What is White Lance Films?

White Lance Films is a collective of talented filmmakers, actors and media artists who produce short and feature length movies, including A Lesser Sort of War, Entherance Online, and The Living Impaired.

History

White Lance Films was established in 1998 by Corey Strong and Michael Fox who made various movies while attending Charles P. Allen High School. Their first two projects planned for 1999 were Cronica (Directed by Fox) and Why Vinnie Carponzo Hates Trains (Directed by Strong). Corey Strong never finished his movie and sold his script, as well as his half of ownership of White Lance Films, over to Michael Fox in 2000.

In 2001, Michael Fox joined the King's Independent Filmmakers Society and produced Lylian True, which premiere at Empire Bedford that August and also screened at the International Teen Movie Festival in November of 2001.

In 2002, Michael Fox began work on his next two features, Film Amateura and The Living Impaired. The next White Lance Films projects to be released were a beer commercial for the Garrison Brewery Ad Challenge and a short movie called Quitting Time.

In December of 2003, Fox released a short 20-minute version of The Living Impaired and premiered Film Amateura at the Oxford Theatre.

In 2004, Film Amateura screened at the New York Independent Film & Video Festival, The Los Angeles Film & Video Festival, and the Las Vegas Film & Video Festival. Production continued on The Living Impaired and was completed in December of 2004.

In 2005, Film Amateura screened at the Miami Film & Video Festival. White Lance Films produced The Disgruntled Thief which was screened at the premiere of The Living Impaired at the Oxford Theatre that June. The Disgruntled Thief also screened at the Halifax Student Film Festival in November of 2005.

In 2006, White Lance Films produced Entherance Online, which premiered at Empire Park Lane that August. A Lesser Sort of War also went into production in November of 2006.

In March 2007, A Lesser Sort of War premiered at Empire Park Lane in Halifax as the headliner of a series of short films. In September of 2007, the film was selected for exhibition at the Atlantic Film Festival.

In March 2008, principal photography of "Why Vinnie Carponzo Hates Trains" began. The film is currently in post-production.
